Sen. Tim Kaine blasted Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on Thursday over his meeting Wednesday with Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto in which Trump did not discuss who would pay for his proposed wall along the southern U.S. border.

“After saying for months that we’re going to build a wall and Mexico’s going to pay for it, he just forgot to bring that up?” Hillary Clinton’s running mate said on “CBS This Morning” on Thursday. “No, he didn’t have the guts to look the Mexican president in the eye and bring up the central position in the campaign.”

The Virginia Democrat said Trump also “misrepresented” Clinton’s immigration proposals in the GOP nominee’s speech in Phoenix Wednesday night.

Kaine said Clinton believes in “comprehensive reform” which includes keeping families together, creating a path to citizenship, strengthening employment verification and border security.
