Gov. Rick Perry is dancing tonight.

Season 23 of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” premieres at 8 p.m. EST. The former Texas governor will get the chance to show off some different moves on a national stage.

Perry is the second politician to compete on the show; former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay danced in 2009.

George Clooney presents the findings on an investigation into the South Sudan conflict, an initiative called The Sentry, at the National Press Club from 10 to 11 a.m. today.

The week ahead…

Tuesday: President Barack Obama is back in Philadelphia, site of the Democratic convention, campaigning for the Democratic ticket of Hillary Clinton and Sen. Tim Kaine.

Wednesday: The Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture opens up for a media preview. Members of the press can see the new Oprah Winfrey Theater, 12 exhibitions and the cafe’s full menu from Chef Carla Hall.
