Pelosi Slams 'Immoral' Tax Breaks

The top two House Democrats came to the microphone after a caucus meeting Wednesday to reiterate opposition to the tax extenders package, with Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi calling it "practically an immorality." Minority Whip Steny H. Hoyer said Democrats would seek to force a House floor vote on a two-year tax extenders extension through the "previous question" procedural gambit.

Pelosi wouldn't tip her hand as to whether Democrats would be encouraged to vote against the omnibus but she said her members still had concerns about the oil export rider, the lack of bankruptcy relief to Puerto Rico, the phase out of wind and solar power renewable tax credits and the persistence of a rider banning federal research on gun violence.
