A new memorial could be coming to Washington, placing Founding Father John Adams alongside his colleagues George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. 

House members passed a bill that would establish a commission to plan, fundraise and build a memorial to the country’s second president, picking up where a previous entity fell short.

A District of Columbia official estimated a crowd size of more than half a million people for the Women's March on Washington on Saturday, according to the Associated Press. The march, organized to protest the inauguration of President Donald Trump that took place Friday at the Capitol, was originally expected to garner a crowd of 100,000 to 200,000, according to media reports.

Images of long lines at Metro stations filled social media for several hours leading up to the original 1 p.m. ET march start time (though formal speakers and events began at 10 a.m.).

Law enforcement agencies kept roads around the Capitol closed on Tuesday evening as they investigated a vehicle driven by a man claiming that he had been exposed to anthrax.  

The man, who was driving a white four-door pickup near the National Mall, was detained and hospitalized, U.S. Park Police said.
