An internal poll by Rep. Duncan Hunter’s Democratic challenger Ammar Campa-Najjar shows the embattled Republican congressman in a tie in California’s 50th District.

Hunter and Campa-Najjar, a former Obama administration official, were tied at 46 percent when voters were asked if the election were held today.

Rep. Duncan Hunter’s Democratic opponent calls the indicted California Republican “an embarrassment” in an ad launched Wednesday.

The new ad by Ammar Campa-Najjar’s campaign cites Hunter’s indictment, where he is accused of spending $250,000 in campaign contributions for personal use.

After appearing to put the blame on his wife last week, indicted California Republican Rep. Duncan Hunter said Tuesday he wants prosecutors to leave her out of the ongoing legal fight.

Hunter told the 10News, the San Diego ABC affiliate, that he wants investigators to focus on him.

A new poll shows embattled Rep. Duncan Hunter leading the race for California’s 50th District after he was indicted on campaign fund violations.

The poll by Survey USA for the San Diego Union-Tribune released Monday showed Hunter had an 9-point lead against his Democratic opponent, former Obama administration official Ammar Campa-Najjar.

Rep. Duncan Hunter’s father defended his son amid his indictment for using campaign cash for personal use.

Former Rep. Duncan L. Hunter Sr., whom the younger Hunter succeeded, told Fox 5 San Diego the indictment coming this close to the midterm elections was a “political late hit.”

Former President Barack Obama  waded into the 2018 elections and endorsed a slew of candidates across the country, including some who served in his administration.

Obama and former first lady Michelle made their announcement on Wednesday and said the former president would also focus on redistricting.

California Rep. Duncan Hunter’s Democratic challenger announced Howard Dean’s former campaign manager would help him unseat the incumbent Republican.

Ammar Campa-Najjar’s campaign said it hired Joe Trippi, who also advised Sen. Doug Jones’ victory in Alabama’s Senate race last year, as lead strategist.

An internal poll from embattled California Republican Rep. Duncan Hunter’s challenger Ammar Campa-Najjar showed the 50th District race in single digits.

The Tulchin Research poll found the five-term congressman ahead of his Democratic opponent, 51 percent to 42 percent.

Despite facing a federal investigation into questionable campaign spending, a new poll shows Republican Rep. Duncan Hunter holds a significant lead ahead of California’s 50th District June 5 primary.

The San Diego Union-Tribune and 10News poll showed 43 percent of respondents support Hunter. The closest competitor, former Obama administration staffer Ammar Campa-Najjar, had the support of 10 percent.
