Sen. Kyrsten Sinema gave her first speech Tuesday, calling for more mental health resources for veterans. On the senate floor, she recounted the story of Sgt. Daniel Somers, a war veteran who died by suicide after serving two tours in Iraq.

Sinema says her bill, the Daniel Somers Network of Support Act, could help make the difference for many veterans seeking mental health resources, like Sgt. Sommers did in the months after returning back to the U.S.
