John Rogers, the executive director of the National Republican Congressional Committee, will announce hires for the committee’s political and communications shops on Friday.
The hires, shared first with Roll Call, are a mix of NRCC veterans and former Hill staffers with a range of experiences working on House, Senate and presidential campaigns.
A 2016 regional press secretary for the NRCC, Chris Pack returns as deputy communications director this cycle. He’ll continue to handle press for the northeastern region, too. Matt Gorman was previously announced as communications director.
National press secretary Jesse Hunt joins the committee from North Carolina Sen. Richard M. Burr’s successful re-election campaign, on which he served as communications director.
Southern and Central regional press secretary Maddie Anderson most recently worked as communications director for Brian Mast’s successful campaign in Florida’s 18th District last fall.
Western regional press secretary Jack Pandol was most recently communications director for former Rep. Charles Boustany’s unsuccessful Louisiana Senate bid.
Kerry Rom, the director of media affairs, is a Republican National Committee veteran who started the 2016 cycle on former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush’s presidential campaign.
Bradley Leonard joins the NRCC as director of content from the NRSC, where he oversaw production and video training with Senate campaigns.
Deputy press secretary Abby Camp is coming from Capitol Hill, where she was most recently a press assistant and scheduler for Missouri Rep. Sam Graves.
Joe Pileggi’s appointment as political director was already announced. He’ll be joined in the political shop by Brendon DelToro as deputy. DelToro left Indiana Rep. Jackie Walorski’s office as chief of staff for a brief stint managing the Senate bid of fellow Hoosier Marlin Stutzman. He most recently worked as vice president of political strategy at iHeartMedia.
Regional political director Chasen Bullock comes to the NRCC from Kentucky, where he managed Sen. Rand Paul’s re-election last year.
Regional political director Mike Thom most recently managed freshman Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick’s winning campaign in Pennsylvania’s 8th District.
Regional political director Anthony Pileggi (no relation to Joe) was most recently campaign manager for New York Rep. Elise Stefanik’s re-election in the 21st District and is an upstate New York native.
Regional political director Tyler Foote joins the committee from Virginia, where he was state director for Americans for Prosperity. Before that, he worked on the Hill for North Carolina Rep. David Rouzer.
Field finance director Chris Broyles returns to the finance department, where he oversaw major donors in 2016. In his new role, Broyles will work with members and candidates to grow their coffers.
Political coordinator Meredith Allen crosses over from the NRCC’s independent expenditure side, where she handled the shipment of ads and processed millions in spending in 2016. She’ll now manage the committee’s Patriot and Young Guns programs.
