‘Tis the season for dueling internal polls.

In Iowa, former Iowa first lady Christie Vilsack (D) released a survey today showing her trailing Rep. Steve King (R) by 2 points in the first public poll of this race in several weeks.

A few hours later, the conservative group American Future Fund put out a poll showing King ahead by several points, 48 percent to 41 percent. Roll Call rates this race as Leans Republican.

In Pennsylvania, Rep. Mark Critz (D) led attorney Keith Rothfus (R) 52 percent to 41 percent in a poll from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. The poll counters a Republican survey released earlier this week showing a tied race.

Democrats claim they’re so confident in Critz’s chances that they pared back an ad buy there for early October. Roll Call rates this race as a Tossup.

The results come as party officials are making vital decisions about which campaigns will receive extra help to get across the finish line.

Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research performed Vilsack’s poll, taken Sept. 22-25, of 400 likely voters. It had a margin of error of 4.9 points.

American Future Fund used American Viewpoint to conduct their poll Sept. 23-24. The sample was 400 likely voters and had a margin of error of 4.9 points.

The Pennsylvania poll, conducted by Anzalone Liszt Research, took the opinion of 400 likely voters Sept. 23-25. The margin of error was 4.9 points.
