Back in our July 30, 1998, edition, HOH explored the tale of Rep. Carroll Hubbard, D-Ky., who found love after leaving the hoosegow. “Where Are They Now? Ex-Rep. Carroll Hubbard (D-Ky), enjoying his freedom after nearly three years in prison for a variety of financial improprieties, has tied the knot with a new bride.

Hubbard married Vivian Taylor , a former campaign supporter, last month. “I’m thrilled to be in western Kentucky, happily married to a beautiful young blonde,” Hubbard crowed to HOH.

After a short stint as a car salesman after being released from a halfway house last summer, Hubbard is now employed by Paducah Medical Supply Inc. He’s also hosting a weekly political radio show.

I don’t want to be tooting my own horn,” said Hubbard, who proceeded to do just that. “The show has really been popular so far — we’ve had eight or nine calls every time we’ve had it.”

Hubbard and his previous wife, Carol Hubbard , were both busted for improprieties in connection with the House bank scandal.

In the fall of 1993, Hubbard went public with a bizarre tale about doing undercover work with the FBI in connection with an effort to nail other Members. But the FBI denied that such an operation existed.

“I don’t want to go into that,” Hubbard said. “That’s behind me.”
