Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., has some advice for her hyper-opinionated male friends: "Hush!"
“As one of just 20 women currently serving in the Senate, it’s important for me to encourage women to run for office,” she said in a video for the Late Show with Stephen Colbert. “But equally important is encouraging more men to sometimes just shut the hell up!”
While McCaskill said she and other women value some male opinions, “We just don’t value all of them.”
Here are the things about which she joked she does not value male thoughts:
What women do with their bodies.
Who the next James Bond should be.
Whether it’s pronounced "gif" or "jif."
Body hair removal.
Star Wars, again. (All or in general.)
Whether or not to brine the Thanksgiving turkey.
Ethics in gaming journalism.
McCaskill added, “If you can control yourselves and hold back from further expressing your opinions on any of these topics, we’ll let you keep weighing in on marijuana legalization. But, that’s a huge, big if.”
