Cherry Blossom update
The peak of the cherry blossom bloom will occur between Sunday and Wednesday, according to the National Park Service, but the recent cold temperatures in D.C. may result in a reduced number of trees reaching the blossom stage.
The blossoms are vulnerable to cold temperatures while they are blooming, the NPS said. They start to sustain damage when temperatures hit the 27 degree mark.
