Watch the premiere of “An Ocean Mystery: The Missing Catch,” which airs on the Smithsonian Channel Saturday at 8 p.m. It will feature the OurFish app created by Rare executive Steve Box with the goal of tackling underreporting of global fish catches.
The Science Museum of Virginia in Richmond is hosting a weekend of environmental-themed programming, which kicks off today with an e-cycling drive. Participates are asked to drop off old and broken computers, phones, batteries and CDs.
While you’re out for Earth Day, check out the grand opening of the Tropical Smoothie Café at 425 I St. NW. The event starts at 7 a.m. and will include a 10:30 a.m. ribbon cutting ceremony, giveaways, product tastings, and $1.99 smoothies and $1.99 flatbreads all day. The café is part of a chain with 570 locations nationwide.
