Lerman is editor of Budget Tracker, the daily compendium of all issues related to federal spending and the budget. He previously served as a national security reporter for Bloomberg News, where he covered defense spending and foreign policy matters. A native of Newton, Mass., Lerman is a graduate of Brown University, where he majored in political science and international relations. He now resides in the Logan Circle neighborhood of Washington, D.C.
