Watch: Duckworth Brings Her Newborn Daughter to the Senate Floor for Vote

Sen. Tammy Duckworth of Illinois cast a mid-afternoon vote in the chamber Thursday with her newborn daughter Maile Pearl Bowlsbey in tow. The Senate on Wednesday passed a resolution to change the rules and allow infants to be brought to the Senate floor. Duckworth’s baby was born on April 9 and Duckworth is the first U.S. senator in history to give birth while in office.
