Rep. Grace F. Napolitano’s husband Frank has died at the age of 90 after battling esophageal cancer.

The onetime restaurateur died Friday, according to the Los Angeles Times. The couple married in the early 1980s after the death of the California Democrat’s first husband.

Frank Napolitano’s illness had put her on the radar as a member who could retire before 2018. Over the summer, she missed several votes because he underwent chemotherapy and radiation.

Napolitano, 81, had health problems herself. In 2016, she had a minor stroke during her reelection campaign. She was first elected to Congress in 1998.
