Breitbart News has been denied permanent Capitol Hill credentials after it failed to prove that it has cut ties with White House chief strategist Steve Bannon.

The temporary passes that the conservative outlet, formerly ran by Bannon, has been using for two years will not be extended when they expire May 31, the Standing Committee of Correspondents for the Daily Press ruled, the Independent Journal Review reported.

Bloomberg News’ Billy House, the committee’s chairman, told IJR that the committee was troubled by Breitbart’s inconsistencies in explaining the timeline of Bannon leaving the company and CEO Larry Solov’s “lack of understanding” of the gallery’s procedures.

A reporter with the Daily Beast tweeted a photograph of the latest request Solov sent to House.

The committee is working on a statement to address its decision, HOH is told.
