After reading a letter written by Coretta Scott King protesting Sen. Jeff Sessions’ nomination to the federal bench in 1986, Sen. Elizabeth Warren was barred from speaking on the chamber floor by Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. McConnell said Warren’s speech violated an arcane rule that states senators cannot impugn a fellow senator. See the video for the heated exchange.
