Reid talks Boxer on Senate floor

Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., took to the Senate floor Wednesday to speak about his fellow retiring colleague, Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif.

Reid said the two first came in as members of the House class of 1982.

“At first glance, Barbara Boxer and Harry Reid had very little in common,” he told the Senate.

Reid was the only Democrat in Nevada’s congressional delegation and the California delegation asked him to join their meetings.

“She was relentless … dedicated and very principled,” Reid said of Boxer. He spoke about her education, family and career, and worked in a few digs at President-elect Donald Trump.
