House Republican Conference Chairwoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers will host a policy and politics conversation with former GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina at a fundraiser Wednesday night.
The event with Fiorina at 101 Constitution Ave is the kick off of McMorris Rodgers’s Conversation with Women Leaders fundraiser series, which will occur quarterly, a McMorris Rodgers aide told Roll Call.
The funds raised will go to McMorris Rodgers’s American Dream Project, a joint fundraising committee for her re-election campaign, leadership PAC and the National Republican Congressional Committee.
More than 150 attendees, including some members of Congress, are expected to attend, the aide said.
McMorris Rodgers will continue to highlight Republican women with her annual Republicans Inspiring Success and Empowerment event on September 27, the aide said. Money raised at the RISE event is used to help women incumbents and candidates.
The 2016 beneficiaries include GOP Reps. Barbara Comstock of Virginia, Elise Stefanik of New York, Martha McSally of Arizona and Mia Love of Utah.
Non-incumbent beneficiaries include Republican House candidates Liz Cheney in Wyoming’s at-large district, Denise Gitsham in California’s 52nd district, Amie Hoeber in Maryland’s 6th district, Tonia Khouri in Illinoi’s 11th district and Claudia Tenney in New York’s 22nd district.
RISE events in 2014 and 2015 have raised a total of more than $750,000 for Republican women candidates, the aide said.
