Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid went on a tear Thursday morning ahead of a meeting that his Republican counterpart Mitch McConnell and other GOP leaders were planning with Donald Trump.

“When they get together, they can talk about their policies about being anti-woman,” the Nevada Democrat said on the Senate floor. “Since Sen. McConnell has so enthusiastically embraced Trump, we can only assume he agrees with Trump’s view that women are dogs and pigs .”

The meeting between the Senate majority’s leadership team and Trump, the business mogul and presumptive GOP presidential nominee, are set for late morning after his meetings with House Speaker Paul D. Ryan at the Republican National Committee’s offices conclude.

While McConnell, a Kentucky Republican, focused his opening remarks in the Senate on progress on an Energy-Water spending bill that could pass by the end of the day, Reid was rattling off a list of areas where he contends Trump and the interests of McConnell overlap.

“We can only assume that the Republican leader is not repulsed by Trump’s vulgar behavior towards women,” Reid said, pointing out a New York Times item  regarding Trump’s “cavorting with [shock jock] Howard Stern.”
