Your Four ‘Best’ Suggestions For President Trump’s Cabinet
Here's whom our readers picked:
With Donald Trump the presumptive Republican nominee for president, it’s time to seriously consider what a potential Trump Cabinet would look like. So we asked readers Tuesday whom they think Trump should pick. Responses were interesting, to say the least. Here are the four versions we thought were most compelling.
Team of Rivals, Plus A Few Other Guys
Keep your enemies closer, they say. While it’s hard to imagine Marco Rubio, who has already ruled himself out of consideration as Trump’s vice president, accepting a lower post, who could have imagined him supporting Trump at all a few months ago? Walker too might be better considered as a running mate, though the Labor Department would be an excellent place to let his antipathy toward organized labor run wild.
Probably Impossible, Still Worth Considering?
It’s probably not legal to have a pair of labor and treasury secretaries, though this respondent helpfully remarked that the Koch brothers would only serve at treasury after dissolving the Labor Department. Presumably Vladimir Putin would resign the presidency of Russia for the honor of serving Trump at the Pentagon. There’s also the question of whether Voldemort, a fictional character, would be eligible. Though surely Trump will be able to make a deal. Plus, you can’t go wrong with Sarah Palin.
The All-Trump Cabinet
The deal-making acumen would clearly be very concentrated in this cabinet. Otherwise, it seems questionable.
The All-Gary Busey Cabinet
Never mind.
