What’s Your Favorite Taste of America?

We're looking for your suggestions for your state's best dishes

Taste of America

Through the end of this week, participants can say which food best represents their home state and suggest where to find that food back home and in Washington.

In all, there will be 64 dishes entered in the bracket, to narrow down the winner of the 2016 Taste of America trophy, to be presented on June 23 at the Congressional Baseball Game . Last year, the honors went to Indiana’s pork tenderloin.

We’re looking for new and different, as well as timeless classics. In the March Madness style bracket, last year’s Sweet 16 was a tough matchup of America’s best, which were all tasted at Roll Call’s baseball game reception. Second place went to Maryland crab cakes and third went to Illinois Italian Beef.

And, for all the trash talkers out there, use #TofA2016 to fight for your state pride! This year, I’ll personally be seeking vengeance for Maryland crab cakes.

The 55th Annual Roll Call Congressional Baseball Game is $10 a ticket and raises money for D.C.-area charities — The Washington Literacy Center, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington and the Washington Nationals Dream Foundation.
