Eleanor Holmes Norton is changing her office setting this weekend from the Capitol to behind a bar. On Sunday , D.C.’s congressional delegate is a guest bartender at Atlas Brew Works to raise money for DC Vote, a nonprofit that aims to extend voting rights and autonomy for the capital city.

“I can only hope bartending does not require prior experience in anything but drinking,” Holmes Norton said.

“Although I look forward to pouring beers at Atlas Brew Works, they may have to live with Chardonnay as the drink I usually request,” she added. D.C. Councilman David Grosso will also be joining her behind the bar.

Atlas Brew Works is celebrating the launch of their seasonal India Pale Lager, Home Rule, with food from the BBQ Bus D.C. food truck and by donating all guest bartender tips and a portion of the day’s sales to DC Vote.

Stop by 2052 West Virginia Ave. Northeast from 1 to 9 p.m. to see D.C.’s favorite congressional representative mixing up cocktails.

For Tax Day , D.C. protestors are marching from the Freedom Plaza on Pennsylvania Ave. to the Capitol next Friday. Starting at 9:30 a.m., the group is pushing for support of full democratic equality for D.C. residents.
