The Congressional Black Caucus PAC has voted to endorse Hillary Clinton for president and will make an official endorsement Thursday, CBC Chairman Rep. G.K. Butterfield, D-N.C., said Wednesday.  

Addressing reporters in the Speaker’s Lobby, Butterfield said at least a dozen CBC members with be campaigning on the ground in South Carolina ahead of the state’s Democratic primary on Feb. 27.  

“President Obama made a very powerful argument in a way for change, and there has been change under President Obama,” Butterfield said in response to a reporter’s question about candidates who appeal to young voters.  

“But what Senator Sanders doesn’t have is the international experience, the foreign policy experience that Mrs. Clinton has,” Butterfield said. “And I believe she’s going to become more aggressive. I’ve got a conference call in a few minutes with the campaign and I believe it’s going to be a very aggressive campaign.”  

Clinton has 173 Congressional endorsements , including prominent CBC members, like Georgia Rep. John Lewis and New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker.  

South Carolina Democratic Rep. James E. Clyburn said in an interview  with KRVN radio Wednesday that he was moving toward making an endorsement in the presidential primary, which he didn’t do before 2008’s South Carolina contest. He said he’d discuss the choice with his family this weekend. “I have a wife and three daughters, so you figure it out,” Clyburn said. “They are my family, they are my consultants.”
