To the Interns:  

Welcome to Capitol Hill. Now here’s how to hit the ground running.  

For many of you, this may be your first professional experience, and it’s likely a combination of hard work, enthusiasm and resilience has helped you land in one of the greatest places — ever — to hold an internship. Hill Navigator has personally worked with some outstanding Capitol Hill interns. Yes, there was the occasional knucklehead, but more often than not, these are young people getting a valuable professional experience in the high-energy setting of a congressional office. Some are even doing so at their own expense — as many internships on Capitol Hill are still unpaid .  

So rather than dedicating a column to lambasting the interns for getting lost in Rayburn or wearing their ID badges at Nationals Park, we want to help. That’s why we put together
