Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, D-N.Y., posted another impressive fundraising haul, bringing in $550,000 in the second quarter, according to figures provided first to CQ Roll Call.  

The freshman Democrat’s fundraising brings his total cash on hand to $1.75 million as he gears up for a rematch with the Republican he ousted in 2012: former Rep. Nan Hayworth. Maloney, a former White House adviser to President Bill Clinton, defeated Hayworth by a 4-point margin in 2012 — the same margin President Barack Obama carried the district by in 2012. The 18th includes the New York City suburbs and spreads north to Poughkeepsie.  

The National Republican Congressional Committee elevated Hayworth on Tuesday to “Young Gun” status, which provides her with fundraising and organizational help, and signals to their donors that she is a top recruit.  

Hayworth has not been able to keep pace with Maloney so far this cycle. She’s personally contributed more than $182,000 to her campaign, including a $132,000 loan. As of June 4, ahead of the state’s June 24 primaries, Hayworth reported having $511,000 in cash on hand.  

Hayworth has yet to release her second-quarter numbers, which — including pre-primary fundraising — cover the period from April 1 to June 30. They are due to the Federal Election Commission by July 15.  

Maloney raised $472,000 in the first quarter and had nearly $1.5 million on hand as of March 31. He reported raising $244,000 from April 1 to the June 4 pre-primary fundraising deadline.
