The two major national political party committees reported similar fundraising receipts during April, but the House Republican committee reported lower fundraising results than the Democrats.  

The Democratic National Committee  (DNC) reported  receipts of $9.3 million and disbursements of $11.2 million during April, leaving $7.9 million cash on hand as of April 30th, with $8.7 in outstanding debts. Small contributions from persons giving $200 or less accounted for $4.5 million of the receipts. California itemized donors provided $1.1 million. The committee repaid $3,750,000 on a loan from Amalgamated Bank of New York. They repaid $1,875,000 on April 1st and April 30th.  

During April, the DNC reported spending $2 million on direct mail, up from $1.6 spent during March. The DNC spent $674,892 on data services subscription, up from $418,415 spent during March. The DNC spent $621,854 on polling, up from $155,070 in March. The DNC spent $610,854 on telemarketing, up from $188,491 in March. They spent only $113,040 on rent, down from having paid $280,415 in March. Travel expenses were $102,903, down from $199,155 in March. The committee transferred $924,386 to state party committees.  

The Republican National Committee  (RNC) reported  receipts of $9.3 million and disbursements of $8.4 million during April, leaving $13.2 million cash on hand as of April 30th, and no debts. The committee received $4.8 million in contributions from persons giving $200 or less. Itemized donors from Texas provided $530,325 in receipts.  

During April, the RNC spent $1.6 million on postage and $2,423,570 on mail and postage, down from $2,969,942 in March; and $1.2 million on telemarketing, up from having spent $877,952 in March. The committee transferred $1.1 million to state party committees.  

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee  reported  receipts of $7.1 million and disbursements of $3.9 million during April, leaving $43.5 million cash on hand, and no debts. They received $3.3. million from small donors giving $200 or less, and $2.4 million from those giving more.  

The National Republican Congressional Committee reported
 receipts of $4.1 million and disbursements of $2.9 million during April, leaving $32.3 million cash on hand, and no debts. The committee received $860,707 from small donors giving $200 or less, a reduction from the $1.2 million received in March. The committee received $1.4 million from those giving more, a reduction from the $3.7 million received during March.
