The two chief communicators for House Administration Chairwoman Candice S. Miller are swapping gigs.

Salley Wood, who has worked as a spokeswoman for Republicans on the House Administration Committee since 2006, moved to Miller’s personal staff on Monday

Erin Sayago, a veteran Senate spokeswoman who currently works as Miller’s communications director, will take over committee communications in Wood’s place.

Wood announced the move in an email Jan. 31, telling friends and colleagues that she would be “moving on, but not far.”

“Over the past seven years, I’ve had the privilege of working for and alongside extremely talented and dedicated individuals, many of whom I consider close friends today,” she wrote. “As I close this chapter, however, I am excited to announce another.”

Her new title will be communications director and deputy chief of staff in Miller’s office.

The D.C. native launched her Capitol Hill career as a senior communications specialist for House Administration. She moved to deputy staff director in 2012, serving under former Chairman Dan Lungren, R-Calif.

Prior to the Hill, the University of Dayton alumna worked for six years as a public affairs manager for the National Association of Broadcasters.

Sayago worked for Florida Republican Sens. Mel Martinez and George LeMieux before joining Miller in 2009. She also served as press secretary for the Senate Aging Committee.

The news comes in the wake of another staff shake-up on House Administration. Speaker John A. Boehner tapped Kelly F. Craven, the committee’s staff director, as his new director of House Operations in early January.
