Top-Ranked Chamber of Commerce Increases Lobbying In 4th Quarter
The Chamber of Commerce of the U.S., the top-ranked organization spending funds on lobbying the federal government, increased their lobbying expenditures by more than one-third during the 4th quarter of 2013.
The Chamber of Commerce of the U.S reported spending $16,490,000 – a jump of $4,330,000 or 36% from the $12,160,000 they reported spending in the third quarter of 2013, when they were ranked as the organization spending the most on lobbying. During all of 2013, they spent $52,760,000. The Chamber is involved in a wide range of issues detailed in the filing.
In addition, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Legal Reform reported spending $5,810,000 in the 4th quarter, up 57% from $3,690,000 spent in the third quarter. During all of 2013, they spent $20,860,000.
