Monday Fundraising Roundup: House Challengers Rake in Dough
House challengers and aspirants continued to released their numbers on Monday, ahead of this week’s deadline to report third quarter fundraising.
The day’s most noteworthy numbers came from former Rep. Robert Dold, a Republican in Illinois, and venture capitalist Sean Eldridge, a Democrat in New York. Both challengers are closing in on the million dollar mark for their respective cash-on-hand totals.
- #IL10: Dold raised $318,000 and had about $819,000 in cash on hand, per The Chicago Daily Herald. Dold faces Democratic Rep. Brad Schneider in a rematch next fall.
- #NY19:Â Eldridge raised $504,000 and had $955,000 in the bank, according to his campaign. Eldridge matched contributions, which means he gave $250,000 of his own funds to his campaign. Eldridge is challenging Republican Rep. Chris Gibson.
- #CA31:Â Redlands Mayor Pete Aguilar, a Democrat, raised $200,000 and had $438,000 in cash on hand, according to a news release. Aguilar is in a crowded Democratic primary in the race to unseat Republican Rep. Gary G. Miller.
- #MN06: Republican former state Rep. Tom Emmer announced he raised “more than $150,000” in his bid to replace Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann. He had $275,000 in cash on hand, per The St. Cloud Times. His rival, state Sen. John Pederson, raised $52,000 and had $40,000 in cash on hand, also according to the newspaper .
- #GA01: Republican Dr. Bob Johnson raised $108,000 and had $183,000 in the bank, according to a news release. This is the race to replace Republican Rep. Jack Kingston, who is running for Senate.
