Boston Billionaire Gives to Super PAC

The 527th richest person in the world has just been reported to have given to a super PAC that is active in the Massachusetts U.S. Senate special election.

The LCV Victory Fund, a super PAC of the League of Conservation Voters, reported today it has received $100,000 on April 25 from Amos Hostetter, who was listed as self-employed and in investment management. Hostetter, of Boston, is currently chairman of Pilot House Associates LLC. Hostetter also gave $100,000 to the LCV Victory Fund on Aug. 12, 2012.

The LCV Victory Fund reported receipts of $161,947 and disbursements of $13,867 from April 11 to June 5, leaving cash on hand of $230,530. The PAC paid the League of Conservation Voters Inc. $3,835 for staff time and an email fundraising appeal as an independent expenditure supporting Edward J. Markey, D-Mass.

The super PAC raised and spent $2.9 million during 2011-2012. During that cycle they made $2.6 million in independent expenditures.
