Several former members of Congress and candidates have donated leftover funds to charities and foundations during the first quarter.

Former Rep. Steven LaTourette, R-Ohio, donated $50,000 to Hiram College (Ohio) in February. LaTourette has $392,532 in cash on hand as of March 31. LaTourette served from 1995 to 2012 and is now with the government and lobbying subsidiary of McDonalds Hopkins law firm.

Former Rep. John Tanner, D-Tenn., gave $25,000 in February to the University of Tennessee Foundation. Tanner also gave $10,000 to Ford’s Theater. Tanner has $301,775 in cash on hand as of March 31. Tanner served from 1989 to 2010 and is now chairman of the Prime Policy Group.

Former Rep. Bart Gordon, D-Tenn., donated $10,000 in March to the Middle Tennessee State University Foundation. He also gave $10,000 in January to the National Cathedral School (D.C.). Gordon has $563,679 in cash on hand as of March 31. Gordon served from 1985 to 2010 and now is with K&L Gates.

Former Rep. Geoff Davis, R-Ky., donated $10,032 to the Institute for Global Engagement (Va.). Davis served from 2005 until July 2012. His campaign committee is now terminated.

Former candidate Shelley Adler, D-N.J., widow of former Rep. John Adler, D-N.J., donated $8,000 to Harvard University’s John H. Adler Memorial Fund. Shelley Adler has $17,407 in cash on hand.

Former candidate Tony Strickland, R-Calif., donated $8,000 to the Tony Strickland Community Foundation. The committee has terminated. Strickland is currently a fellow at the University of California.
