Foreign Clients Sometimes Pay Top Dollar for Lobbying

Location, location, location. If you aren’t close to the legislative action in Washington, D.C. — or even in the country — you might pay top dollar for a lobbying firm to do the work for you. In the first quarter, Talco Management Ltd. paid $300,000; Lloyds of London paid $240,000; the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan paid $210,000; the Republic in India paid $180,000; and CMA CGM and China Merchants Holdings paid $130,000, among others.
