Boehner, Future Son-in-Law Might Disagree

The National Enquirer is reporting that Speaker John A. Boehner’s soon-to-be son-in-law smoked pot seven years ago.

Yawn.

Dominic Lakhan, who is engaged to the Ohio Republican’s daughter Lindsay, was busted in 2006 for driving with an open beer can, possessing 2 grams of marijuana and being around the strong smell of burning weed.

The Enquirer then pointed out that Lakhan is from Jamaica — we all know what that means — and “resembles reggae legend Bob Marley.” And we all REALLY know what that means!

HOH reached out to Boehner’s office, but it didn’t want to comment on the incident.

According to NORML, the advocacy group for the legalization of marijuana, Boehner has repeatedly stated his opposition to the legalization of grass.

In a blog post from June 2011, NORML’s Allen St. Pierre quotes the GOP leader remarking to one of his constituents: “I am unalterably opposed to the legalization of marijuana or any other FDA Schedule I drug,” Boehner wrote. “I remain concerned that legalization will result in increased abuse of all varieties of drugs, including alcohol.”

So, one might deduce, the father is probably miffed at the future son-in-law and the son-in-law is probably bored with the dad. Groundbreaking in a world where the highest-ranking U.S. government official was once part of the Choom Gang and states are legalizing bud faster than the drug czar can keep track.

Everyone watch “Father of the Bride” (the Steve Martin version) and call it a day.
