House Leaders Collect Funds in Amounts of $50,000 or More

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) received larger than normal campaign checks through the use of each having a joint fundraising committee that solicited one large check to be divided among several of other committees.

Boehner for Speaker reported it raised $2,763,058 during the first quarter of 20123. Major donors included Barbara Banke (Kendall Jackson) $50,000; Jamal H. Daniel (investor, Crescent Investment Co.) $52,600; Joyce H. Gates (homemaker, VA) $52,600; Thomas J. Jordan (Jordan Winery) $50,000; Richard D. Kinder (chairman & CEO, Kinder Morgan) $52,600; Thomas E. Larkin Sr. (TCW Group) and Margaret $105,200; Stephen Lockwood (CEO, S.J. Lockwood & Co) $50,800; David T. Morgenthaler (partner, Morgenthaler Ventures) $52,600; Arnold Siemer (owner, Desco Corporation) $52,600; and the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation $52,600; among others.

The joint fundraising committee transferred $992,293 to Friends of John Boehner, his campaign committee; $853,456 to the National Republican Congressional Committee; $200,693 to Freedom Project, his leadership PAC; and $97,425 to the Ohio Republican Party.

The Nancy Pelosi Victory Fund reported it raised $671,400 in the first quarter. The major donors were George Tsunis (chairman, Chartwell Hotels) $42,600; Marc Benioff (chairman, Salesforce.com) and Lynne $50,000; Stanford R. Robertson (Francisco Partners) and Marsha $50,000; Charles and Nancy Geschke (retired) $50,000; Terry and Carol Winograd (professors, Stanford University) $50,000; Douglas E. Goldman (Certain Software Inc.) and Lisa $50,000; and George M. Marcus (Marcus & Millichap) and Judith $50,000; among others.

The joint fundraising committee transferred $400,228 to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee; $120,000 to PAC to the Future, her leadership PAC; $136,185 to Nancy Pelosi for Congress, her campaign account.
