Ex-Lawmakers to Investigate Extra-Terrestrials

Former members of Congress will bring their investigative chops back to Washington later this month to get to the bottom of an issue that has vexed scientists in both the U.S. government as well as the “X-Files” for years — the existence of extraterrestrial life and the U.S. government’s alleged cover-up of the issue.

According to the group Citizen Hearing on Disclosure, ex-Sen. Mike Gravel, D-Alaska, ex-Rep. Darlene Hooley, D-Ore., ex-Rep. Merrill Cook, R-Utah, ex-Rep. Roscoe Bartlett, R-Md., ex-Rep Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick, D-Mich., and ex-Rep. Lynn Woolsey, D-Calif., “will attempt to accomplish what the Congress has failed to do for forty-five years — seek out the facts surrounding the most important issue of this or any other time.”

The former members will convene their hearings, to span 30 hours, from April 29-May 3.

Friends, don’t worry about feeling a bit unmoored by attending a hearing that is not in a hearing room because, according to the event description, the hearing will take place in the National Press Club’s main ballroom, which will be “configured to resemble a Senate hearing.”

“There will be press sections, an audience area, and witness and committee tables,” the CHD promises. “The Hearing committee will include former members of Congress and two experts of counsel [to] the extent possible all appropriate protocols will be followed as with Congressional hearings.”

And tell your friends! The group promises to live stream “in English, Spanish, Arabic, Hindi, Japanese and Mandarin (archive only).” It’ll all form the basis for a documentary as well, “Truth Embargo.”

“On November 4, 2011 the White House issued this statement: ‘The U.S. government has no evidence that any life exists outside our planet, or that an extraterrestrial presence has contacted or engaged any member of the human race. In addition, there is no credible information to suggest that any evidence is being hidden from the public’s eye,'” writes the CHD. “From April 29 to May 3 the Citizen Hearing on Disclosure will present en masse the evidence the White House says doesn’t exist.”

HOH will probably be there with live reports. Many thanks to the Detroit News for its report on Kilpatrick’s involvement, which set us off on a reporting binge.
