Sarah Bolton has been hired as a senior policy and budget adviser for the Democratic staff of the Senate Budget Committee. She was a legislative assistant for Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash. Bolton also has worked as a legislative aide for Murray. She also has previously served as a staff assistant for the Senate Budget Committee.

Amaia Kirtland has been hired as deputy press secretary on the Democratic staff of the Senate Budget Committee. Kirtland was director of operations for Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash. She worked as a Web content contributor for the 2012 Democratic National Convention. She previously served as a deputy scheduler for Murray. She also has worked as an office manager and legislative correspondent for Rep. Jim Matheson, D-Utah.

Kim Sajet has been appointed director of the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery. Sajet is the CEO of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania. She has worked as senior vice president and deputy director of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. She has also worked as director of corporate relations at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Kyle Nevins has been hired as a principal at Capitol Counsel, a lobbying firm. Nevins was deputy chief of staff in the leadership office of Rep. Eric Cantor, R-Va. He has also worked as a floor director in the leadership offices of Cantor and then-Rep. Roy Blunt, R-Mo.

Kenneth A. Markison has been promoted to vice president and regulatory counsel at the Mortgage Bankers Association, a trade group. Markison was associate vice president and regulatory counsel. He has worked at the MBA as a senior director and regulatory counsel. He has also served as an assistant general counsel at the Housing and Urban Development Department.

Rick Wiley has been hired as a managing director in the Washington office at Mercury, a political strategy firm. Wiley was a political director at the Republican National Committee. He has worked as deputy national political director for the 2008 presidential campaign of former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani. He has also worked as executive director of the Wisconsin Republican Party.

Linda Bloss-Baum has started her own firm Creative Strategies. She was vice president of public policy for Time Warner Inc. She has also worked as vice president of Time Warner Inc. Bloss-Baum also served as vice president of Warner Music Group. She worked as counsel on Republican staff of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

Charles C. Jefferson has been appointed vice president of federal relations for Wine Institute. Jefferson was vice president at BGR Group. He also has worked as chief of staff to Rep. Mike Thompson, D-Calif. He served as special assistant in the leadership office of former Rep. Dick Gephardt, D-Mo.
