Adrian Arnakis has been hired as counsel on the Republican staff of the Senate Commerce Committee. She was a legislative assistant for Sen. John Thune, R-S.D. and worked as a staff member on the committee. Arnakis also has served Thune as a legislative aide.

Robert Loeb has been hired as a partner and member of the Supreme Court and appellate litigation practice at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe. He was special appellate counsel in the Justice Department’s civil division. He also has served as acting deputy director of the appellate staff of the civil division at the Justice Department. He worked as an appellate attorney in the division, too. He was a judicial law clerk for Judge Richard A. Posner in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. He was a summer associate and law clerk at Mayer Brown.

Mythili Raman has been appointed acting assistant attorney general for the Justice Department’s criminal division. Raman was principal deputy assistant attorney general and chief of staff in the division. She has worked in the department as senior counsel to the deputy attorney general. She also has worked as an assistant U. S. attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland.

Carmel Martin has been hired as executive vice president for policy at the Center for American Progress, a liberal-leaning think tank. Martin was assistant secretary for planning, evaluation, and policy development at the Education Department. She has worked as general counsel and chief education adviser to the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass. She has also worked at CAP as associate director for domestic policy.

Cecelia Prewett has been hired as a senior vice president at consulting and communications firm SKDKnickerbocker. Prewett was director of public affairs and senior policy adviser to the chairman at the Federal Trade Commission. She has worked as vice president of strategic communications at the American Association for Justice. She also has worked as director of media relations for AARP.

Faith Schwartz has been hired as senior vice president of government solutions at CoreLogic, a consumer information company. Schwartz was the executive director of the HOPE NOW Alliance. She has worked as director of alternative markets, structured transactions and national sales at Freddie Mac. She also has served as executive vice president for TMC Mortgage.

Mara B. McDermott has been named director of federal affairs in the Washington office of the California Association of Physician Groups. McDermott was counsel at law and lobbying firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld. She has also worked in the health policy department at The George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services.

Steven C. Sparling has been hired as a partner and member of the energy practice at K&L Gates. He was a partner at Sutherland Asbill & Brennan.

David L. Wochner has been hired as a partner and member of the energy practice at K&L Gates. He was a partner at Sutherland Asbill & Brennan. Wochner also has served as deputy director of project research at LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae.

Chuck Cosgrove has been appointed chief financial officer at CRGT Inc., an information services provider. Cosgrove was CFO of Comtech Mobile Datacom Corp. He also has worked as vice president and business unit controller of government and infrastructure at Kellogg, Brown & Root. He served as vice president and group controller of the government solutions group at Affiliated Computer Services. He was also a senior vice president and CFO at USProtect.
