The K Street-focused Bryce Harlow Foundation announced five new board members Monday: Paul Brathwaite, principal at the Podesta Group; Phil Brady, senior vice president of government affairs for Phillips 66; Peter Davidson, senior vice president for federal affairs at Verizon Communications Inc.; Craig Purser, president and CEO of the National Beer Wholesalers Association; and Angela Riemer, senior director of federal government relations at Pfizer Inc..

Juanita Duggan, a policy director at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, was named board chairman, replacing Robert Hall of General Electric Co. Leigh Ann Pusey, president and CEO of the American Insurance Association, was appointed vice chairman, while Mitch Bainwol, president and CEO of the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, was named secretary/treasurer.

“I am so pleased that we continue to draw such talented and well respected lobbyists to serve on the board and then later rise to become officers,” Linda Dooley, the president of the foundation, said in a statement.

New Dose of Health Care Wonks

The shop Thorn Run Partners has added two health care lobbyists, Katie Pahner and Devin Zatorski as senior vice president and vice president, respectively.

Pahner, recently with the Marwood Group, is a former legislative analyst at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, while Zatorski previously worked for the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. He also once worked as a senior research analyst and editor with the Advisory Board Company.

The duo is joining Billy Wynne, another health care lobbyist, who set up shop at Thorn Run earlier this month.

“We are thrilled to have Katie and Devin coming on board to add even more substantive depth and relationship breadth to our healthcare team,” Wynne said in a release.

Cylke’s New Tune

The National Music Publishers’ Association added Christopher Cylke as senior vice president for government affairs. Most recently, he was director of government affairs for the Motion Picture Association of America.

He will serve as the NMPA’s chief liaison to Capitol Hill and federal agencies, overseeing all legislative and regulatory policy development and outreach on behalf of the music publishing and song-writing industry, according to the group.

“Chris combines Hill experience with an understanding of industry issues and strong sense of Washington’s impact on business,” said David Israelite, NMPA’s president and CEO, in a statement. “He’s a tremendous asset and we’re excited to have him join our team.”

Cylke began his career with Minnesota Sen. Rod Grams, a Republican.
