Amie Woeber has been hired as legislative director to Rep. Dennis A. Ross, R-Fla. She was legislative director for Rep. Joe Walsh, R-Ill. Woeber also has worked as executive director of the Arab women’s leadership institute at the International Republican Institute. She was legislative director to former Rep. Ginny Brown-Waite, R-Fla. She also worked as deputy campaign finance director for the Republican Party of Florida. She was a legislative analyst at Dutko Poole McKinley.

The following people have been appointed or promoted at the Consumer Electronics Association:

Jim Davin has been named vice president of membership. He also serves as vice president and general manager of Pritchard Industries Inc. He was in charge of retail merchandising and execution at Johnson & Johnson, where he also worked as a team leader, business development manager, and business analytics support manager. He worked as new business development manager at Boston Scientific. He served as national account manager at Xerox Corp.

Siri Tyler has been promoted to vice president of finance. She was the director of finance.

Karen Chupka has been named to senior vice president of international CES and corporate business strategy.

Mark L. Shurtleff has been hired as a partner in the regulatory compliance and government litigation practice and state attorneys general team at Troutman Sanders, a law and lobbying firm. Shurtleff is the attorney general of Utah. He has served as deputy county attorney for Salt Lake County. He also has served as an officer and attorney with the Navy Judge Advocate General Corps.

Tom Ridge has joined the advisory board at software company TaaSERA Inc. Ridge is president and CEO of consulting firm Ridge Global. He has served as secretary of the Homeland Security Department under President George W. Bush. He also has served as a Republican governor of Pennsylvania.

John D. Negroponte has been named chairman of the board of directors at the Intelligence and National Security Alliance, a national security think tank. Negroponte is vice chairman of McLarty Associates. He has served in the State Department as deputy secretary of State under President George W. Bush. He also has served in the White House as director of National Intelligence under Bush.

Tina Sung has joined the board of directors at the Society for Human Resource Management. Sung is the vice president for government transformation and agency partnerships at the Partnership for Public Service. She has worked as president of Synergy Works. She also has worked as the CEO of the American Society for Training & Development.
