Torrie Miller has been hired as communications director for the Republican staff of the House Rules Committee. Miller was communications director to Rep. Pete Sessions, R-Texas. She also worked as an intern for Sessions. She also was an intern in the office of public liaison at the White House under President George W. Bush.

Richard G. Lugar has been named senior transatlantic fellow at the German Marshall Fund of the United States. He has served as a Republican senator from Indiana. Lugar was mayor of Indianapolis, Ind.

George Stauffer has been hired as a senior attorney at law and lobbying firm DLA Piper. Stauffer was deputy general counsel at Maple Life Financial Inc. He also has served as an associate at Mayer Brown. He worked as an associate at Crowell & Moring.

Susan Chai has been hired as an attorney in the insurance and reinsurance sector and litigation practices at DLA Piper. She was assistant general counsel at Maple Life Financial Inc. Chai also has served as a judicial intern to Judge Louis A. Becker III in the Howard County Circuit Court.

Nils C. ‘Chris’ Sorenson has been hired as chief operating officer at Triple Canopy, a private military security company. Sorenson was the commander of the Army’s 1-star led Military Information Support Operations Command. He has served as operations officer for the Army’s Special Operations Command. He also has worked as a senior service college fellow with the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. Sorenson retired from the Army with the rank of colonel.

Britt Thomas has been hired as chief financial officer at Primary Integration, a commissioning and energy services company. Thomas was an operating partner and principal at Allied Capital Corp. He has worked as director of finance for the mid-Atlantic market at Arthur Andersen. He also has worked as director of finance/controller at ICF Kaiser International.

Paul Henne has been appointed managing principal for government services at consulting firm Kelly, Anderson & Associates. Henne was assistant director for business management and operations at the Interior Department’s U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. He has worked at the department as chief financial officer, chief procurement executive and chief information officer.

Robert “Bob” Hosenfeld has been hired as a principal at Kelly, Anderson & Associates. Hosenfeld was director of strategic initiatives for STG International. He has served as assistant commissioner of customs and border protection at the Homeland Security Department. He also has served as deputy assistant secretary for human resources at the Health and Human Services Department.
