Ben Miller has been hired as chief of staff for Rep.-elect Jared Huffman, D-Calif. Miller is legislative director and deputy chief of staff for Rep. George Miller, D-Calif. He also worked as a legislative assistant for Miller.

Charlie Eye has been hired as vice president of government solutions at Korn/Ferry’s Futurestep. He was vice president of client relations at Adecco RPO. Eye also was the founder and president of the Employer Services Corp.

Mickey D. Barnett has been elected chairman of the U.S. Postal Service Board of Governors. Barnett was vice chairman of the board. He is managing partner with the Barnett Law Firm. He has served as a member of the New Mexico State Senate. He has also worked as a legislative assistant to former Sen. Pete V. Domenici, R-N.M.

James Bilbray has been elected vice chairman of the U.S. Postal Service Board of Governors. Bilbray is of counsel at Kaempfer, Crowell, Renshaw, Gronauer & Fiorentino. He served as a Democratic representative from Nevada. He also served as a Democratic member of the Nevada State Senate.

Robert Wanerman has been promoted to senior counsel and a member of the health care and life sciences practice at law firm Epstein Becker Green. He was an attorney. He also serves on the board of The Ivymount Foundation, which funds educational programs for children with developmental delays.

George Birsic has been hired as director of defense and intelligence programs for the Washington operations at Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp. Birsic was director of the systems technology group at the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO). He has served as a science and technology fellow at the Commerce Department. He has also served at the NRO as an operational solutions group director and as engineering division director of the operational support office. Birsic retired from the Air Force with the rank of colonel.

Aaron S. Hullman has been named counsel. Hullman was an associate in the firm’s corporate department. He has also worked as vice president and general counsel of technology company Luna Innovations.

Sara K. Orr has been named counsel. Orr was an associate. She is a member of the American Bar Association section of environment, energy, and resources policy and coordination task force. She has also served as a manager of Latham’s global associates committee and its global pro bono committee.

Jarret S. Taubman has been named counsel. Taubman was an associate.
