Steve Martin Endorses Bob Kerrey, Teaches How to Crumple Paper

Actor, comedian, bluegrass musician, novelist and wild and crazy guy Steve Martin endorsed Senate candidate Bob Kerrey (D-Neb.) on Thursday.

“A wad of paper can be a lot of fun just to play with around the house or maybe toss expertly in the trash can, but who wants to go down to a fancy office building and root around in their dumpster to find a really good one?” Martin continues. “So I’m going to show you how to make one at home with things you have lying around the house!”

In all honesty, Martin’s step-by-step instructions for wadding paper are pretty complicated, involving a piece of gum, paper clips and a hammer, so this is not for the wadding novice. Martin expects a certain familiarity with the technique, so intermediate and expert wadders only.

Kerrey is a former Democratic Senator and governor who has served the Cornhusker state for decades. For some reason, he hasn’t gotten enough of this place and is running for his old seat, which has been kept warm since 2001 by Sen. Ben Nelson (D). Nelson announced he will be stepping down this year.
