By the Numbers: Fundraising in Member-Vs.-Member Races

Four down, and just eight more Member-vs.-Member matchups left this cycle. Here’s how the second-quarter fundraising went in the remaining races between two House Members:

Michigan’s 14th district (Aug. 7 primary)

  • Rep. Gary Peters (D) raised $316,000, spent $733,000 and reported $813,000 in the bank.
  • Rep. Hansen Clarke (D) raised $70,000, spent $253,000 and reported $381,100 in the bank.

Florida’s 7th district (Aug. 14 primary)

  • Rep. Sandy Adams (R) raised $131,000, spent $90,000 and reported $500,000 in the bank.
  • Rep. John Mica (R) raised $400,000, spent $308,000 and reported $1.33 million in the bank.

Arizonas 6th district (Aug. 28 primary)

  • Rep. Ben Quayle (R) raised $531,000, spent $376,000 and reported $1.13 million in the bank
  • Rep. David Schweikert (R) raised $274,000, spent $229,000 and reported $857,000 in the bank.

California’s 30th district (Nov. 6)*

  • Rep. Brad Sherman (D) raised $621,000, spent $622,000 and ended the reporting period with $3 million in the bank.
  • Rep. Howard Berman (D) raised $362,000, spent $734,000 and ended the reporting period with $447,000 in the bank.

California’s 44th District (Nov. 6)*

  • Rep. Laura Richardson (D) raised $59,000, spent $58,000 and reported $78,000 in the bank at the end of the period. Her campaign also reported $512,000 in debt.
  • Rep. Janice Hahn (D) raised $99,000, spent $158,000 and reported $27,000 in the bank at the end of the period. Her campaign also reported $192,000 in debt.

Louisiana’s 3rd District (Nov. 6)

  • Rep. Charles Boustany (R) raised $742,000, spent $330,000 and reported $1.9 million in the bank.
  • Rep. Jeff Landry (R) raised $293,000, spent $138,000 and reported $976,000 in the bank.

Iowa’s 3rd district (Nov. 6)*

  • Rep. Leonard Boswell (D) raised $202,000, spent $37,000 and reported $473,000 in the bank at the end of the period.
  • Rep. Tom Latham (R) raised $357,000, spent $189,000 and reported $2.15 million in the bank at the end of the period.

Ohio’s 16 district  (Nov. 6)

  • Rep. Betty Sutton (D) raised $294,000, spent $174,000 and reported $904,000 in the bank.
  • Rep. Jim Renacci (R) raised $504,000, spent $186,000 and reported $1.55 million in the bank.

*Note: Fundraising totals in these races are for the period following the pre-primary report, May 17 through June 30. All other numbers are for the full quarter, April 1 through June 30.
