Poll: Nevadans Support Brothels, Veterinarian John Ensign

Prostitution, it seems, is one thing a divided electorate can rally around.

Look no further than Nevada, which has fast become the quintessential swing state, with Democrats and Republicans competing fiercely in the presidential, Senatorial and House races. The parties won’t agree on whether Barack Obama or Mitt Romney should be president or whether Republican Sen. Dean Heller or Democratic Rep. Shelley Berkley should be the Silver State’s Senator.

But one thing the parties both embrace by wide margins? Brothels.

According to a recent Public Policy Polling survey of 500 Nevada voters, “There is one thing Nevada voters across party lines can agree on: They love them some brothels.”

How much? Sixty-six percent of Republicans and 66 percent of Democrats support legalized brothels.

Among the poll’s other findings are opinions on unidentified flying objects and former Sen. John Ensign (R).

Fortunately for extraterrestrials hoping to visit the state’s legal brothels and hope to keep a low profile, only 23 percent of Nevada’s voters believe in UFOs.

The same PPP poll showed that more than 50 percent of Nevada’s pet owners would trust veterinarian-turned-Senator-turned-veterinarian Ensign with their furry — and not so furry — friends.

The only-in-Nevada survey was conducted June 7-10 and has a 4-point margin of error. The poll was conducted through automated phone interviews.
