Haley Barbour May Return to K Street

Miss. Gov. Haley Barbour, who for years was a fixture on K Street as a top GOP lobbyist, will return to the lobbying profession after he leaves the governorship on Jan. 10, the Associated Press reported.

The AP said he will return to BGR Group, the firm he built as Barbour Griffith & Rogers.

A BGR spokesman declined to comment.

A prodigious fundraiser and longtime Washington insider, Barbour considered making an official bid for the White House but ultimately decided against it earlier this year. This fall, Barbour signed on to help with the fundraising efforts of the Republican group American Crossroads, which also has Karl Rove as an adviser.
