HOH’s One-Minute Recess: Do You Know Where Your Legislation Is?

With all the tumult engulfing the Capitol this week over extending the payroll tax cut, HOH would like to take note of the cutting edge of scheduling information: Knowing exactly where a piece of legislation is. And for that, thank goodness for the office of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.)

The Majority Leader’s office was helpful enough to send out an announcement that made sure to note the physical location of the request for a conference on the extenders package.

“The House’s request for a conference will be transmitted to the United States Senate this afternoon where it will await the appointment of their conferees. To be clear, H.R. 3630 will physically reside in the Senate by the close of business today,” the release stated.

Whew. We were worried the legislation would be wandering the streets late at night.
