After a bit of a hiatus, Meghan McCain, daughter of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), wants to rejoin the blogosphere. And she’s hoping some fellow wordsmiths will sign on to help fortify her virtual soapbox.

Meghan first took to the Interwebs in late 2007, launching McCainBlogette.com as a way to give her father’s supporters a behind-the-scenes peek at life on the campaign trial. The platinum-tressed spokesdaughter flooded the online ether with YouTube videos of the then-White House aspirant’s town hall meetings, snapshots from the family’s travels — partying with Henry Kissinger! — and random playlists trumpeting her favorite recording artists. 

After the 2008 election, the site became a stream-of-consciousness information dump on everything from conservative politics to plugs for her “Daily Show” appearances. By 2010, it was relegated to a static billboard for her book, “Dirty Sexy Politics.”

This time around, she’s hoping to get extra chatty, soliciting guest bloggers on Twitter this week, assuring would-be contributors that “McCainblogette is going to be a safe place for people to share their opinions, no bullying or hate.”

No word yet whether active tweeter @SenJohnMcCain might contribute.
