Bachmann Moves Chief of Staff to New Gig

Rep. Michele Bachmann’s chief of staff, Andy Parrish, has relinquished his post to take a different job with the Minnesota Republican, yet another indication Bachmann is preparing a White House bid.

Parrish has worked for Bachmann on and off since she served in the Minnesota Senate. As Roll Call reported, Parrish over the years has been one of Bachmann’s most trusted campaign aides. The Minnesota Republican has previously signaled that she intends to launch her White House bid this month in Waterloo, Iowa, where she was born.

Bachmann spokesman Doug Sachtleben declined to comment when asked Thursday afternoon to reveal Parrish’s new job. But he denied reports that Parrish has gone to work for Bachmann’s political action committee, MichelePAC.

“Andy Parrish is taking a temporary leave from the chief of staff position to work in a new position for Rep. Bachmann. The deputy chief for the office, Brooke Bialke, will serve in that capacity on an interim basis,” Sachtleben said.
