Heard on the Hill: Dems’ Trump Tee Party

Donald Trump may be considering a bid for president and publicly questioning President Barack Obama’s birthplace, but the National Democratic Club is still planning to hold an annual golfing event at one of the swirly-haired mogul’s golf courses.

The club is holding its 32nd annual golf tournament July 11 at the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Va. That has some of them snickering about the invasion of Dems onto Trump’s enemy territory.

One past participant in the event dissed the course — and Trump’s judgment. “I think it’s totally ironic that Trump thinks this is a great course,” the attendee tells HOH. “I’ve golfed a lot of courses around town and this is a ‘dog track.’ In fact, I think I saw a goat on No. 4.”

A club staff member declined to comment and said no senior club executives were available for comment either.

Five Democratic Members of Congress sit on the board of governors of the National Democratic Club, which is located adjacent to Democratic headquarters on Capitol Hill.
